My vessel forms have gradually evolved into bird sculptures, inspired by time spent at my kitchen window observing the birds which would visit our feeders. Perched there on our Mountain Ash tree, they would often tilt their heads in curiosity watching me as I watched them. This began my love affair with creating birds...very small and simple forms at first then gradually evolving into larger, more complex sculptures including penguins, owls and crows. Each one is given its’ own expression and personality as the eyes are positioned, seeming to bring them to life. When complete, the birds evoke an emotional response inviting the viewer to smile, to give them an intimate caress.
